Our team

Raquel Freire

Anthropologist and musician. She earned her bachelor of Social Anthropology at the University of Chile in the year 2010. Since her graduation, she has developed her focus in education of art and culture of indigenous peoples. She has worked two years in GAM, Cultural Center Gabriela Mistral. She has studied music theory and composition with her mentor, Pablo Sandoval, organic song and voice with Michelle Rideau, was a member of the Chilean League of Voice, and studied three years of trumpet with musician Daniel Trincado. During 2012 she traveled to various different countries of Latin America, recording and learning from different exponents of music and popular rituals, especially in the Peruvian jungle and the Colombian Caribbean. She currently lives in the center Ojo de Luna with her family, and is conducting research on midwives and gestational wisdom of the Amazons.
